Bilston traveled to nearby neighbours Wolverhampton Casuals on Saturday and gained another hard-earned point in a 3-3 draw.
The first half started pretty evenly, with Bilston showing some signs of early promise through the middle. Unfortunately, a bit of class from the Wolverhampton Casuals striker saw the team go 1-0 behind after 17 minutes.
The team fought back well, gaining a number of corners and applying some good pressure in the Causals half. This eventually paid off, and a fantastic delivery from yet another corner saw Bright leap well to score with a nicely placed header.
Casuals re-took the lead just before half time thanks to another goal from their number 9 following a free-kick that saw Bilston striker Jordan Crump sinbinned (for reasons unknown!). This time it was a thumping free kick that wrong-footed our keeper, and the ball found itself nicely settled in the bottom corner.
The game opened up a little in the second half, but a sweet left-footed shot from the Casual number 9 saw the Steelmen trailing 3-1 as he celebrated his hat-trick.
It seemed like all was lost, but every Bilston player dug in and the team gradually started increasing the pressure. Harry Dixon came on and made an immediate impact, curling a beatiful left-footed strike around their keeper after some great build up play on the right, and a super assist from super Sammy Yankson.
A number of attacking substitutions were made by Dave King to continue the search for an equaliser, and it finally came following a free kick that made its way forward down the left hand side of our attack. The ball was looped in and Sam Yankson arrived nicely to tuck it in at the back post.
It was Bilston that ended the game stronger, as the team were roared on by the fantastic orange army who turned up in numbers.
